Meditation Mondays - Praying for Your Future Husband

Welcome back to the third week in our mini series of preparing ourselves for our future husband. Today I want to talk about one very important thing. Prayer! This is a key element to preparing ourselves for marriage. We need to already be praying for our future husband. I am going to share with you 10 ways you can pray for your future husband. I use these every day.

1. Pray for his relationship with God.

2. Pray that God will bless him.

3. Pray that he will be a spiritual leader for your family.

4. Pray that he will love you deeply.

5. Pray that he will have a heart for your children together.

6. Pray that he will make wise choices.

7. Pray for his emotional, mental, and physical health.

8. Pray that he will prosper at work.

9. Pray for his power to resist sexual temptation and stay pure.

10. Pray that you will show him respect, grace and kindness.

These are just a few of the many ways you could pray for him. I'd just like to take a minute right now and pray for you ladies that are reading this.

Father, I pray right now for each one of the sweet ladies reading this. I pray that as they are waiting for you to bring that special guy into their life that you would help them resist temptation. I pray that they will continue to grow in your knowledge and wisdom. Let their hearts remain pure and as they prepare for marriage someday that they will be praying for their future husband whether they have met him or not. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Be sure to check back next week as we wrap up this mini series ;)

Prayer is Important

Prayer is an important part of your spiritual walk with God. Just like you talk to your friends to build a relationship and know more about them you need to do the same with God. Sometimes you may think it's hard to pray or you don't know what to pray for. Let me tell you that you can talk to God about anything at any time.

Some people think that prayer is only for when you have a decision to make or something major happening in your life. The truth is you need to pray all the time. Even if nothing major is happening. You need to have that connection with God. Prayer changes you.

When the movie War Room came out and I went to watch it let me just tell you that it changed my perspective on prayer. Prayer is a powerful weapon! God is listening to you. Even if you can't find the words to say He knows your heart.

One of my favorite Scripture Verse is: "because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath." Psalm 116:2 Another verse I love is: "don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done." Philippians 4:6

I encourage you to keep a prayer journal. Write down your prayer requests. Here are a few ideas of what I do in my prayer journal.

1. Write a master list. Write down the names of all the people you want to pray for. I am still adding to my list as I meet new people.

2. Write down specific prayers for certain people. For example, mother, father, sister, brother, grandma, grandpa, spouse, etc.

3. Keep a place to write down the prayer requests that others ask you to pray for.

4. Write down your own prayers. What is on your heart. What you are feeling.

I hope this post encourages you to seek a prayer life. I promise you that it will help you in your walk with Christ. So as I end this post I just want you all to know that I pray for each and every one that reads my blog. I pray that God will use me and my posts to encourage you. I pray that He will help you get through whatever you may be facing. He is the only one that will ever love you unconditionally.

Blessings and Shalom,

National Day of Prayer - Wake Up America

Today is National Day of Prayer! I have learned over the past year just how important prayer can be. Don't get me wrong, I always have prayed and know that it is important but this last year my eyes were really opened. One thing that changed for me was when we went to see the movie War Room. Prayer is powerful. Isn't it wonderful that we can pray anytime? I love the fact that God is never too busy to listen. Prayer is one of the things that have gotten me through some really rough times and still gets me through every day.

Every year we observe National Day of Prayer and this year the theme is "Wake Up America". That couldn't be more fitting for today with what's going on in our nation. In my last post I mentioned a little bit about the election news. Today I would like to write a little bit more on the subject because I feel that it ties in with the theme this year.

First off I don't want to start an argument. I do want to say that we as a nation is in trouble. The news is all about Abortion, same sex marriage, and transgenders. My heart is broken thinking of how far our nation has come away from God. It's really sad. We need to stand up and fight to bring our nation back to God. I will be going into more about politics as we get closer to election time but let me just tell you that the most important thing we can do now is PRAY! PRAY! and PRAY some more. God is in control and He is the answer.  So I encourage you today to take time and just pray. Ask God for guidance and cry out to Him on behalf of our nation.

I found this song on YouTube and thought it was very fitting for today. Hope you enjoy and remember to take time to pray today and everyday.
