Plans for December

Yay!!! It's officially Christmas season.

Well for me it started last Friday. I always say that the day after Thanksgiving is when we can start playing Christmas music and say Merry Christmas without being judged. I do hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving filled with family and much love.

I am excited to share with you my plans for this month. Each day in December I plan to post something. It will vary but include things like Christmas songs, Scripture photo quotes, book reviews, articles, movie reviews, etc. I hope you all with check back each day. I will be linking all the posts on facebook but feel free to share the posts with family and friends. I am also doing an advent study which I will be sharing every now and then on Instagram.

I pray for each and every one of you that is reading this. I hope that as we prepare for Christmas that we don't loose sight of the heart of it. Let's remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.

Blessings and Shalom,

A Season of Thankfulness

As I think about Thanksgiving this week my thoughts go back to how crazy this year has been. I'm thankful most of all for my relationship with Jesus Christ because without Him I would be lost.

I think about the verse in the Bible that talks about always being joyful, pray continuely, and give thanks in all circumstances. We have so much to be thankful for. God is so good!

I'm thankful for my parents. They love me and help guide me through life. The give me a place to live, clothes to wear, food to eat, and everything that I need to survive.

I'm thankful for my sisters Amber and Summer. This past year we have grown closer. I was going through a tough time and they never left my side. They are Godly young women who always know how to encourage me and pray for me. They make me laugh, smile, and I can be completely myself with them. I am comfortable to share my heart. I know if I have a problem I can always count on them. So thankful that they keep me focused and grounded in the Word. One thing for sure is that we all love God and continue to grow in our faith together. They have surpassed being my best friends. They are my family and I couldn't live my life without them. I can't wait to see what is ahead of us and how God will use us to bring more people to know Him.

I'm thankful for my best friend Jordyn. She's a pretty awesome friend considering she has stuck by me this past year of a rough time I was going through. She's the only one that understands my craziness for knitting and crocheting and anything that has to do with fiber.  I always enjoy our late night chats and that she makes me laugh. I'm thankful that she and I can totally be honest and say things even though sometimes it doesn't make sense. I love that she is my friend. I can't wait to see what other crazy projects lay ahead of us. Where life takes us? I thank God that we are friends and I don't know what I would do without her.

Remember Give Thanks to the Lord for He is good and His mercy endures forever. So this Thanksgiving remember to give thanks no matter what. I pray you have a blessed day filled with family and friends.

Blessings and Shalom,

Scripture Writing Challenge

As I was browsing pinterest I came across scripture writing challenge and it interested me a lot. I've been looking for a way to memorize scripture and grow closer to God. This seemed like a perfect way. The idea is to write out a scripture each day of the month. I've seen plans where each month is a different topic and so the verses corresponded with that topic.

I want to challenge you to do it! I'm coming up with a plan. November will be on thankfulness and thanksgiving. It doesn't take more then 5 minutes to write out the verses. I encourage you to take the challenge. It is worth it! What a great way to keep His Word in our hearts. Invite a friend to do it with you. You can decorate the page you write the verses on any way you like. Post pictures on Instagram and use the hashtag #WriteTheWord #onegirlonelifeonegod so we can all see how creative you all are and can encourage one another.

Daughters of Grace Devotional

The last six weeks I joined in a devotional study over on facebook that was called Daughters of Grace. I was so encouraged by this study and shared my journey over on instagram each day. Studying each woman was a blessing to me. There were so many times when I was reading about them that I was like oh my goodness I can relate to her.

One thing that I noticed as I was going through this study is that no matter what God always is there and always sees us. His love is consistent and He is always faithful. We see that all these women had bravery and courage they had.

My favorite woman would have to be Deborah. I never realized how interesting her life was. She was a wife, a prophetess and a judge. She believed in God and was faithful to him. Not only did she lead people into battle but she also lead their hearts back to the Lord as well. While reading through her story we see the cycle of sin the nation went through. One minute they disobeyed and slipped into doing what they thought was right in their own eyes and then next thing they did what God thought was right. Deborah would always give the glory and praise to God when the battle was won. She was a woman who did what God called her to do and then everything she accomplished she gave the praise and honor to Him. We learn through her story that God will use is even if we seem like an unlikely choice. Also we must not take credit for ourselves but realize the victory is through Jesus Christ our Lord. I really enjoyed studying about her. She is a unique life and story.

Another one of my favorites was Priscilla. She was a consistent christian. Both her and her husband became missionaries with Paul. She knew the scriptures and was a woman of the Word. Priscilla was a woman who lived her daily life for Jesus and served everyone around her. We can learn a lot from her. We learn that we need to serve the Lord daily. Even small acts of worship and praise for Him is done with a heart of love and devotion is what matters. When we are where God calls us to be there is no act of service that is insignificant to Him.

I could share with you all day about the different women but that would be a very long post. Over the last six weeks I learned a lot from this devotional. It was a blessing to me. My focus was completely on digging into the Word and learning to be more consistent with my quiet time. I can't encourage you enough that when we spend time in His Word we grow and learn more about Him.

So here is what I am going to leave you with. Start with God, Stay with God, End with God!

Blessings and Shalom,

Affiliate with Kristin Schmucker's Shop

Can I just say how excited I am right now?

Over the last couple months my quiet time has been something I have been focusing on more and more. Life happens and sometimes all you need is to spend time in prayer and worship God. I know for me that when I put God first I would feel better about myself and it has made me look at life and things differently. After a lot of prayer and discussion about where I see my blog going and what I want to accomplish with it I am excited to announce that I have become an affiliate for the Kristin Schmucker Shop.

I was introduced to Kristin's products and shop back in April of this year. After personally purchasing a devotional and some highlighters I was hooked. Her stuff has been a huge blessing to my journey and quiet time. I've now done 3 devotional studies by her and I just want to share it with you all. That is why I became an affiliate. I love blogging and I love encouraging others in their journey and quiet time as well.

I encourage you all to check out her stuff. I wouldn't ever recommend anything that I haven't personally used and love. All the opinions in this post are my own. The link is on the sidebar.

Blessings and Shalom,

Fall Update and Changes

Hello Everyone,

I hope this finds you all well. It is officially fall here. The leaves have turned and its chilly out. I'm sitting here in a sweatshirt and leggings just relaxing. As you have noticed I changed the layout and design to a fall themed blog. It's been over a month since I last posted but a lot have changed for me.

One of the reasons why I haven't been blogging lately is I have been praying for guidance for the future of this blog. As I am still praying I have decided this is what God is calling me to do. I want to encourage you in your walk with God. If this blog just helps one person then it is all worth it.

Another reason I haven't been blogging much is that I am involved with a wonderful Bible study called Daughters of Grace that is by Kristin Schmucker. If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you probably have seen all the posts I've been posting about the different women we have been studying. I do plan to share about them on here sometime.

Please join me in prayer. If you have any suggestions or ideas of topics you'd like me to write about please feel free to contact me. I want this blog to reach the needs of others so let me know what you want to read. Some suggestions that I am considering for future articles are being yourself, waiting for the right person, how to be consistent in your quiet time, etc. I'd love to know your thoughts. I also am trying to plan a few exciting things as we are coming up on Thanksgiving and Christmas season.

Thank you for sticking by me and I'll leave you with this today. You are special and you are loved. You are a child of the one true King. Live your life for Him.

Blessings and Shalom,
